Barcelona have confirmed that young star Lamine Yamal will miss the remainder of the La Liga season after medical tests revealed a hamstring injury in his left leg.

The club said the 18-year-old forward will follow a conservative treatment plan, ending his domestic campaign at a crucial stage for Barcelona. However, the statement also offered reassurance, with Yamal expected to be available for Spain at the upcoming World Cup.

The injury came after Barcelona’s match against Celta Vigo, where Yamal scored the winning goal from the penalty spot before leaving the pitch injured.

His absence is a significant setback for coach Hansi Flick as Barcelona enter the final stretch of the league campaign, including a key Clásico against Real Madrid on May 10.

Despite the blow, the expected World Cup recovery timeline will ease concerns for Spain, where Yamal has become one of the most important young faces of the national team and a symbol of the country’s next football generation.
