Health Canada has recalled certain Cuisinart metal wire bristle grill brushes after finding that small metal bristles can detach during use and stick to the grill or food, creating an ingestion hazard and a risk of serious internal injuries that could require surgery.
The recall covers brushes included in two products: the Cuisinart 20-Piece Grill Set, UPC 817096012967, SKU 520486, and Cuisinart 10-Piece Grill Tools, UPC 890084002799, SKU 611997. The affected brushes have either stainless-steel or wood handles marked with the Cuisinart name.
A total of 679 affected units were sold in Canada between December 2017 and March 2026. As of August 26, the company had received no reports of incidents or injuries in Canada.
Health Canada is advising consumers to stop using the recalled brushes immediately and contact Crate & Barrel Canada for a refund. Recalled products cannot legally be resold, redistributed or given away in Canada.
