Homicide investigation launched after man, woman found dead in Brossard

Longueuil police on Montreal’s South Shore have opened a homicide investigation after a 56-year-old man and a 54-year-old woman were found dead inside a home in Brossard early Monday, February 2, 2026.
Police said officers were called around 12:45 a.m. to Bienvenue Avenue for reports of an armed assault. Upon arrival, they discovered two bodies with signs of violence, secured the scene and established a command post.
SPAL spokesperson Const. Jacqueline Pierre said a weapon, possibly a knife, was used. Police did not confirm the relationship between the victims, but said they lived together.
Pierre added investigators are not ruling out a murder-suicide scenario, and said the Major Crimes Division is leading the investigation with forensic specialists expected on scene.
Police are asking anyone with information to contact investigators.
