Lebanon’s Ambassador to Canada Bashir Tawk discussed issues concerning the Lebanese community with Consul General in Montreal Charbel Nemer during his first official visit to the Lebanese Consulate General since assuming his duties in Ottawa.
During the visit, Tawk met with members of the Consulate General’s staff and toured its various consular service sections, where he reviewed the work carried out for members of the Lebanese community.
The visit was part of ongoing coordination between the Lebanese Embassy in Ottawa and the Consulate General in Montreal in following up on the affairs of Lebanese nationals and community members across Canada.
The visit marked Tawk’s first official visit to the Consulate General since taking up his post, although it was not his first visit to Montreal. He previously visited the city on February 7, 2026, to attend celebrations marking the Feast of Saint Maron and meet members of the Lebanese community in Quebec.
