Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC) has released a concerning report indicating that 2026 may surpass all previous records to become the hottest year in history.

 

The forecast suggests global temperatures could rise 1.5°C above pre-industrial levels.

 

 The ministry emphasized the urgent need to activate climate contingency plans, warning that this summer could bring unprecedented heatwaves to Western and Central provinces
