Canada condemned Iran’s strikes that hit civilian infrastructure across the Middle East, warning that attacks on civilian targets put lives at risk and deepen an already volatile escalation.

Foreign Affairs Minister Anita Anand urged all parties to protect civilians and civilian sites, and to return to negotiations, underscoring that diplomacy remains the clearest path to de-escalation.

Ottawa also announced expanded help for Canadians in the wider region. Canada is deploying surge consular support through its Standing Rapid Deployment Team, working through nearby missions to assist Canadians across the area, including in Armenia, Azerbaijan, Israel, Jordan, Turkmenistan and Türkiye.
