Prime Minister Mark Carney and Foreign Affairs Minister Anita Anand said Canada is closely monitoring Iran-related hostilities and urged all Canadians in Iran to shelter in place. The statement emphasized civilian protection and said Ottawa supports U.S. action aimed at preventing Iran from obtaining a nuclear weapon, while noting Canada is not involved in military planning.
The escalation is already disrupting travel. Air Canada canceled a flight to Dubai on Saturday, citing the military situation, and warned schedules may be adjusted as regional airspaces change.
