Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese said Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney will visit Australia in March and deliver an address to the Australian Parliament, according to remarks broadcast on Australian public television.

 

Albanese said he agreed with Carney’s Davos speech at the World Economic Forum, where the Canadian leader criticized powerful nations for using economic integration as a weapon and tariffs as leverage.

 

Reuters reported the Davos speech drew criticism from U.S. President Donald Trump, highlighting wider tensions over trade and the global order.

 

The visit comes after Canada and Australia moved to deepen cooperation, including a joint declaration signed in late October 2025 to strengthen collaboration and trade in critical minerals
