Children at Risk of Burns: Pajamas Sold on SHEIN Recalled in Canada

Health Canada has issued an urgent warning over Michley-brand children’s pajamas sold through SHEIN in Canada after testing found that the garments failed to meet federal flammability requirements for children’s sleepwear, creating a potential risk of serious burn injuries.
The affected pajamas have been recalled, and consumers are being advised to stop using them immediately, keep them away from children and dispose of them in a way that prevents further use. Customers should then contact SHEIN Distribution Canada Limited to receive a full refund. (recalls-rappels.canada.ca)
The recall covers Michley one-piece children’s pajamas sold in four designs: green with a dinosaur patch, pink with a rabbit, yellow with a giraffe and purple with a rabbit. The affected garments were available in sizes 80 through 130, with the brand name and size printed on a label sewn inside the pajamas.
According to Health Canada, approximately 66 units of the recalled pajamas were sold in Canada between May and December 2025. The products were manufactured in China by Yiwu Chuanrun Trading Co., Ltd.
As of July 16, 2026, the company had received no reports of incidents or injuries involving the pajamas in Canada. However, federal officials stressed that families should stop using the products immediately rather than wait for an accident to occur.
The safety concern is linked to the way loose-fitting sleepwear may come into contact with household ignition sources such as stovetops, candles, matches, lighters and fireplaces. If non-compliant fabric catches fire, flames may spread rapidly and cause severe burns over large areas of a child’s body.
Canadian regulations impose stricter flammability requirements on loose-fitting children’s sleepwear than on snug-fitting garments. Loose clothing allows more oxygen to circulate between the fabric and the body, which can cause flames to spread more quickly. Snug-fitting sleepwear is less likely to come into contact with an ignition source and may limit the oxygen available to fuel a fire.
Health Canada warned consumers not to resell, donate or give the recalled pajamas to another family. Under the Canada Consumer Product Safety Act, recalled products must not be redistributed, even free of charge.
Consumers seeking a refund can contact SHEIN Canada toll-free at 1-888-971-5568, Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Pacific Time, or by email at [email protected].
Parents and caregivers are urged to inspect their children’s sleepwear and check for the Michley name, the affected sizes and the recalled designs. Children’s pajamas should also be kept away from candles, cooking appliances, fireplaces and other sources of flames or intense heat.
