Durham police charge six men in “Project Firebird” human-trafficking investigation involving minors

The Durham Regional Police Service says six men were arrested and a total of 19 charges were laid in a human-trafficking investigation involving victims under 18.
Police said “Project Firebird” targeted the purchase of sexual services from minors in Durham Region, alleging multiple suspects arranged meetings while knowing they were communicating with minors.
All six were charged with offences including luring a person for the purpose of obtaining sexual services under 18, obtaining sexual services under 18, and invitation to sexual touching under 16, and were released on an undertaking, according to police.
