Are there truly romantic places in Canada that appeal to visitors and residents alike? A new global analysis says yes, after examining nearly 1.5 million reviews written by couples across 200+ landmarks worldwide and ranking locations by the share of 4–5 star couple ratings.
The study’s results show four Canadian locations featured on the global list, with several natural and cultural sites outperforming traditional “romance icons,” including the Eiffel Tower, which ranked notably lower than multiple Canadian entries.
Stanley Park (Vancouver) placed #15 globally with 97.41% of couple reviews rated 4–5 stars. For getting there without a car, the City of Vancouver notes that TransLink bus #19 serves Stanley Park.
Niagara Falls (Ontario) ranked #21 globally with a 96.60% score, based on data collected in December 2025.
From Toronto, travellers can reach Niagara Falls by train via VIA Rail, and selected services are also available via GO Transit.
Notre-Dame Basilica (Montreal) came in at #39 globally with 95.17%, with repeated praise for its interior and evening experiences.
For transit access, Place-d’Armes is a nearby Montreal Metro station.
Banff National Park (Alberta) ranked #59 globally with 92.13%, driven by the Canadian Rockies’ landscapes and lakes.
Parks Canada notes the closest major airport is Calgary International Airport.
