Ontario: GAINS support for low-income seniors can reach up to $90/month

Ontario continues to provide the Guaranteed Annual Income System (GAINS), a monthly top-up designed to support low-income seniors with basic living costs. The province notes that the maximum amount can be up to $90 per month during the 2025–2026 benefit year, running from July 1, 2025 to June 30, 2026.
From a service perspective, guidance indicates many eligible seniors may be assessed automatically, often in connection with eligibility for the federal Guaranteed Income Supplement (GIS). That makes timely tax filing and keeping personal details up to date essential to avoid delays or interruptions in payments.
