SIU probes death after Ottawa rollover crash

Preliminary information indicates Ottawa police responded late Friday, January 23, 2026, but did not locate anyone in or around the vehicle and were unable to reach the registered owner before leaving the scene.
The man was found deceased Saturday morning near the collision site, beneath the snow. The SIU said Ottawa police may have been in or around the area at the time of the death, triggering its mandate. Investigators are asking witnesses with photos or video to come forward.
