Environment and Climate Change Canada has issued a winter storm warning for the City of Toronto, forecasting 20 to 40 cm of snowfall with locally higher amounts possible, along with sharply reduced visibility in blowing snow as wind gusts reach up to 50 km/h.
The warning remains in effect until 5:00 a.m. ET on Monday, January 26, 2026. Peak snowfall rates could reach 5 to 7 cm per hour at times, creating hazardous travel conditions and major delays on roads and transit.
In Ottawa, temperatures are near minus 21 C, with light snow expected later Sunday totaling about 1 to 3 cm. Additional intermittent snow early in the week could lead to slippery roads
