Vancouver and Toronto have taken the top two spots in a new ranking of FIFA World Cup 2026 host cities, according to Action Network’s Fan Experience Index, which assessed all 16 host cities across Canada, the United States and Mexico.

The ranking placed Vancouver first with a score of 82.2 out of 100, followed by Toronto in second with 63.2. Seattle ranked third and was the top U.S. host city. The index looked at several fan-focused factors, including stadium accessibility, walkability, local food and drink costs, atmosphere, safety, expected weather and hotel access near the venues.

The result gives Canada a strong boost ahead of the tournament, as the country prepares to host 13 matches in Toronto and Vancouver during the first men’s World Cup to feature 48 teams and three host nations.

Toronto will host six matches at Toronto Stadium at Exhibition Place, beginning with the first-ever men’s World Cup match on Canadian soil on June 12, featuring Canada’s men’s national team. The city will also host FIFA Fan Festival Toronto from June 11 to July 19, with match broadcasts, entertainment, food vendors and interactive fan activities.

Vancouver will host seven matches at BC Place, including Canada’s second and third group-stage matches and two knockout-round games. The city’s FIFA Fan Festival will take place at the PNE Grounds at Hastings Park, offering live match screenings and entertainment for fans.

While the ranking is not an official FIFA classification, it highlights Canada’s appeal as a host destination and points to the wider experience fans can expect beyond the match itself: accessible stadium areas, city atmosphere, hotel availability and public celebrations.
