Yotvata Cheese Recalled in Ontario and Quebec Over Staphylococcus aureus

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency has recalled Yotvata Caciotta Peperoncino Cheese sold in Ontario and Quebec after the product was found to be contaminated with Staphylococcus aureus, advising that the affected cheese should not be used, sold, served or distributed.
The recall applies to 250-gram packages marked with code LUG 26 and a best-before date of May 31, 2027. The affected product carries UPC 8 00395 0003017, with distribution reported in Ontario and Quebec.
Retailers and other businesses handling the product have been advised to check the brand name, package size, code and best-before date and remove any matching packages from use, sale or service.
The recall is among the latest food safety alerts issued in Canada and was posted on September 18, 2026, following the detection of Staphylococcus aureus contamination in the affected cheese.
