Bed Bath & Beyond Returns to Canada Online, Stores to Follow in 2027

Bed Bath & Beyond is back in Canada, but its comeback looks very different from the retail chain Canadians knew before its stores disappeared three years ago. The company launched a new nationwide e-commerce operation Tuesday, with physical locations planned for a later stage.
The revived Canadian business is owned by Sleep Country Canada, which acquired the Canadian and U.K. rights to the Bed Bath & Beyond name and logos from Overstock.com. The brand is now being positioned as a Canadian-owned and Canadian-led retail operation.
The online store is launching with roughly 6,000 products from more than 80 brands across eight categories, including bedding, bath, kitchen and dining, décor, organization, baby products and seasonal merchandise.
Shoppers will find brands including KitchenAid, Umbra, Calvin Klein, Lacoste and Smeg, alongside Sleep Country-affiliated names such as Endy, Bloom, Simba and Silk & Snow.
The company is not simply rebuilding its former business. Bed Bath & Beyond Canada president Carol Deacon said the new assortment will be more curated, with a smaller initial focus on furniture because of intense competition and shipping challenges. Its baby selection will concentrate more on products used to prepare the home for a new arrival.
Physical retail remains part of the strategy, with the company targeting late 2027 for its first new Canadian store. The future locations are expected to be smaller and more focused than the large-format stores Bed Bath & Beyond previously operated.
The former Canadian business entered creditor protection in 2023 and eventually closed 54 Bed Bath & Beyond stores and 11 BuyBuy Baby locations across the country.
