Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada confirmed that visitors wishing to attend the 2026 FIFA World Cup matches hosted in Canada must apply only through official channels, such as a visitor visa or an Electronic Travel Authorization (eTA), in accordance with existing requirements, with no exceptions linked to the tournament.

The department stressed that hosting World Cup matches does not entail the creation of any special visa category for fans, noting that all entry applications are subject to the same rules and procedures applied to other visitors.

In this context, a Canadian immigration expert warned of fraudulent offers circulating in several countries, particularly India, promoting what is referred to as a "FIFA Visa" and claiming it grants entry to Canada during the tournament period. The expert emphasized that such a visa does not exist and has no legal basis within Canada’s immigration system.

The expert added that unlicensed agents are exploiting global interest in the World Cup to charge excessive fees, warning that submitting false information or fraudulent documents could result in application refusal or future bans from entering Canada.

Canadian authorities urged prospective travelers to verify information exclusively through official government sources and to avoid dealing with any entities claiming to offer special or expedited visa pathways related to the World Cup.
