Canada launches the Canada Strong Pass, offering free access to parks and museums and VIA Rail travel discounts until January 15, 2026.

The Canadian government has officially launched the Canada Strong Pass, effective from December 12 through January 15, 2026, as part of a national effort to support domestic tourism and make travel and cultural experiences more affordable during the winter holiday season.

Under the program, visitors can enjoy free admission to national parks, historic sites, and marine conservation areas across Canada. The initiative also includes a 25% discount on camping fees, encouraging families to explore Canada’s natural landscapes throughout the winter.

The Canada Strong Pass offers additional benefits for families and young travelers. Children under the age of 17 can travel for free on VIA Rail when accompanied by an adult, while young adults aged 18 to 24 receive a 25% discount on train fares. National museums are also participating by providing free admission for children and discounts of up to 50% for young adults in the same age group.

The program aims to reduce financial barriers to travel while promoting access to Canada’s cultural and natural heritage, especially at a time when rising living costs have limited leisure travel for many households.

Officials expect the initiative to boost visitor numbers at parks, museums, and major travel routes during the holiday season, reinforcing tourism activity across the country.
