Canada’s largest clinical trials tumour repository has moved into a new, centralized home at Kingston Health Sciences Centre, bringing decades of patient-donated tumour samples under one roof to strengthen cancer research and support clinical trials.
Global News reported the relocation consolidates material that had been stored across multiple locations, including sites linked to Queen’s University, creating a hub intended to speed up research workflows and help connect laboratory findings to patient care.
According to KHSC, the new facility pairs specialized freezer storage with advanced digital pathology capabilities, including computerized image analysis, genomics, and AI-enabled tools, aimed at improving how researchers study tumour behaviour and treatment response over time.
