Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney said Canada "strongly opposes" any U.S. tariffs being floated in connection with the Greenland dispute, and called for focused talks to support security and prosperity in the Arctic.
Carney made the remarks during the World Economic Forum in Davos as political and trade tensions rise between the United States and several allies.
He voiced support for Denmark’s sovereignty over Greenland and said Canada’s commitment to NATO’s collective defence principle remains firm.
Carney also warned that sustaining rules and institutions matters to prevent escalation and protect stability in the North
