Meta has unveiled its first smart glasses designed specifically for prescription wearers, in a move aimed at expanding the wearable AI market and making smart eyewear more practical for everyday use. The new lineup includes Ray-Ban Meta Blayzer Optics (Gen 2) and Ray-Ban Meta Scriber Optics (Gen 2), which the company says support “nearly all” prescriptions.

According to Meta, the Blayzer comes in a rectangular shape and is offered in Standard and Large sizes, while the Scriber features a more rounded frame. The company says both models are built for all-day comfort, with overextension hinges, interchangeable nose pads, and optician-adjustable temple tips for a more personalized fit.

Pre-orders open in the United States starting today at a starting price of $499, with optical retail availability in the U.S. and select international markets beginning April 14. Alongside the launch, Meta also announced seasonal frame and lens colors for selected Ray-Ban Meta and Oakley Meta styles, as well as new software features including hands-free nutrition tracking and WhatsApp summaries through Meta AI.

The launch reflects Meta’s effort to address one of the biggest barriers to smart-glasses adoption: usability for people who rely on vision correction every day, as the company continues pushing deeper into AI-powered consumer hardware.
