Her Excellency Souriya Otmani, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Morocco to Canada, took part in a series of political, economic, educational, and community meetings in Winnipeg as part of a three-day diplomatic mission to Manitoba by the Groupe des Ambassadrices et Ambassadeurs francophones in Ottawa.

The visit included a program at the Manitoba Legislative Assembly, where the delegation met with Premier Wab Kinew, Glen Simard, Minister responsible for Francophone Affairs, and several members of the Manitoba government.

Ambassador Otmani also took part in meetings with officials and institutional representatives in Manitoba, including engagements at Cereals Canada and Le Cercle Molière, as well as meetings with Malaya Marcelino, Minister of Labour and Immigration, and Tracy Schmidt, Minister of Education and Early Childhood Learning.

At the conclusion of the mission, Ambassador Otmani met with the president and members of the Moroccan Association of Manitoba. The community meeting reflected the Moroccan Embassy in Ottawa’s interest in connecting official diplomatic work with the presence and contributions of the Moroccan community across Canadian provinces.

The mission highlighted Morocco’s active participation within Canada’s Francophone diplomatic space and reflected a broader model of diplomacy that connects official institutions, economic sectors, education, immigration, and community engagement.
