Mothers x Women of the Flame returns to Oakville on May 9 with broader ambitions

Oakville will host the second edition of Mothers x Women of the Flame on May 9, 2026, in an evening organized by the Canadian Arab International Foundation, CAIF, at Opal Palace from 6 p.m. to midnight, according to statements by Sarah Khaled, Founder and Executive Director of the organization and producer of the event.

Khaled said this year’s edition is designed to go beyond a symbolic Mother’s Day celebration and instead serve as a wider community platform that honors mothers, women leaders, entrepreneurs, and women with inspiring personal journeys, while also highlighting the importance of family and community support and the role of men and children in recognizing women’s contributions.

She explained that the 2026 program will combine motivational speaking, human storytelling, artistic segments, and interactive experiences, alongside the participation of motivational speaker Unstoppable Tracy and a series of women’s stories focused on resilience, survival, inspiration, and the ability to turn challenges into meaningful paths of impact.

Khaled also expressed hope that this year’s edition will generate even stronger engagement, especially as the event expands in vision, message, and programming, further positioning it as a platform for celebrating women, strengthening community ties, and spotlighting women-led initiatives, small businesses, and brands.

She noted that the first edition, held in Mississauga in 2025, drew more than 200 attendees, supported 13 small businesses through vendor participation, attracted 15 sponsors, and generated more than 293,000 digital views after the event.

Organizers believe those results give the 2026 edition a stronger foundation to build on, with expectations that this year’s program will drive even greater audience engagement and reinforce the event’s role as a space that recognizes women’s achievements and celebrates their impact across the Arab Canadian community and beyond.
