Nissan Bets on Fewer Models and Smarter Cars

Nissan has announced a major global reset that will reduce its vehicle lineup from 56 models to 45, as the Japanese automaker shifts resources toward stronger, more profitable products.
The strategy goes beyond cutting models. Nissan says it aims to bring AI-powered driving technology to 90 percent of its future vehicles, making software, driver assistance and intelligent mobility central to its next generation of cars.
The company is also preparing new products, including a hybrid Rogue, known as the X-Trail in some markets, and an electric Juke, as it tries to strengthen its position in key markets such as the United States, China and Japan.
For drivers, the message is clear: the future Nissan lineup may offer fewer choices, but the cars that remain are expected to be smarter, more connected and more focused on electrified driving.
