Health Canada announced on Monday, March 16, 2026, a nationwide recall of the Tim Hortons Pink and White Colour Changing Donut Mug, warning that the product may crack or break when used or filled with hot liquids, posing a risk of burns. Consumers across Canada are urged to stop using the mug immediately and return it by April 22, 2026 for a full refund.
According to the federal recall notice, the company received 28 reports of incidents in Canada as of March 10, 2026, including one reported burn injury. The scale of reports has raised concerns, especially given the product’s wide availability in the Canadian market.
The recalled item is a 16-ounce white ceramic mug featuring a donut design on both sides, with a pink interior and handle. The design changes colour when hot liquid is poured in, revealing one of four donut patterns. Health Canada confirmed that 25,040 units were sold across Canada between January and February 2026.
Authorities are advising consumers not to use, resell, give away, or redistribute the recalled product, as Canadian law prohibits the redistribution of recalled items. Customers who purchased the mug in-store can return it to any Tim Hortons location in Canada, while those who bought it online via Timshop.ca should contact customer support.
