The University of British Columbia is inviting women aged 39 and older who live in Canada to take part in a study examining the severity of health concerns associated with menopause, the barriers women face when seeking treatment and their satisfaction with the care they receive. Recruitment remains open but is scheduled to close in August 2026.

The study, called INSIGHT-M, focuses on concerns including vaginal dryness, pain during sex, chronic urinary tract infections and urinary incontinence, as well as the impact these symptoms can have on women's daily lives.

Researchers also want to understand women's experiences when seeking medical help, the barriers they encounter in accessing treatment and their satisfaction with care, including health coverage for menopause-related symptoms. UBC says the findings could help support better treatments and improve health care for midlife women in Canada.

To be eligible, participants must have been assigned female at birth, be at least 39 years old, live in Canada and be able to read and write in English.

Participation begins with a short eligibility form. Those who qualify will receive a link to an online questionnaire that takes about 30 minutes and includes questions about health status, menopause symptoms, quality of life, health-seeking behaviour, insurance coverage and treatment experiences.

UBC says recruitment is still underway but will close in August 2026. Women interested in taking part can access the sign-up form through the university's official INSIGHT-M study page.
