Montreal’s Weekly Book Souk brought readers together on Friday, September 25, for an evening of books, poetry and cultural conversation as part of its regular weekly gathering.
The event welcomed poet Farid Zamkhal, editor-in-chief of Al-Risala newspaper, as the evening’s guest of honour, offering attendees an opportunity to engage in literary discussion in an informal community setting.
The weekly initiative provides a regular meeting place for readers, writers and members of Montreal’s Arabic-speaking community, combining access to books with conversations that help maintain connections to Arabic language, literature and culture.
Organizers thanked Zamkhal and those who attended and participated in the evening, while confirming that the book gathering will return next Friday with another cultural meeting.
