Women’s Shelters Canada has launched a new national awareness campaign, Refer Her, aimed at employers and workplaces. The campaign promotes a dedicated training program designed to help managers, HR teams, and staff recognize how domestic violence can show up at work, understand employer responsibilities, and respond in ways that support survivors.
Campaign materials state that domestic violence can follow women to work and negatively affect performance. The site also highlights workplace impacts and related economic losses referenced within the campaign.
According to Women’s Shelters Canada, the training runs 90 minutes and is available virtually or in person. The organization says it is partnering with the Alberta Council of Women’s Shelters and building regional capacity while providing training nationally.
The campaign notes the project is funded through Women and Gender Equality Canada’s program.
Verification: This is accurate. Women’s Shelters Canada describes Refer Her as a national awareness campaign tied to its workplace training initiative
