Emirati businessman Khalaf Ahmad Al Habtoor has announced that every member of Egypt’s national football team delegation will receive a Mitsubishi vehicle in recognition of the Pharaohs’ historic performance at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

The initiative will cover the players as well as members of the technical, administrative and medical staff, highlighting the collective effort behind Egypt’s strongest World Cup campaign to date.

Al Habtoor said the Egyptian team had brought joy to millions of supporters and raised the profile of Egypt and the Arab world through its determination, teamwork and fighting spirit throughout the tournament.

Egypt reached the knockout stage for the first time in its World Cup history after advancing from the group stage and later defeating Australia on penalties in the Round of 32.

The Pharaohs were eliminated in the Round of 16 following a dramatic 3-2 defeat to Argentina, despite taking a two-goal lead during the match.

The Egyptian delegation later returned home to a large public reception, with thousands of supporters gathering near Alamein International Airport and along the streets of New Alamein to celebrate the team’s historic campaign.

Al Habtoor Group said it had contacted the Egyptian Football Association to coordinate the initiative. However, the company did not disclose the exact Mitsubishi models, their financial value or the official delivery date.
