Canada's Lotto Max lottery has reached its highest-ever jackpot, with $90 million available in the Friday, October 16, 2026 draw. The amount marks a new national record for a single lottery prize on offer, following two consecutive draws without a jackpot winner.

Tuesday's $85 million jackpot went unclaimed, just days after Friday's $80 million prize also failed to produce a winner. The rollover pushed the jackpot to the $90 million ceiling introduced earlier this year.

The draw will feature an estimated 18 Maxmillions prizes worth $1 million each, along with 90 Maxplus prizes of $100,000. Together with the main jackpot, these additional prize categories bring the total advertised value of top prizes to approximately $117 million, according to the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation (OLG).

The record follows changes to Lotto Max that took effect in April 2026. The lottery increased its jackpot limit from $80 million to $90 million, introduced additional $100,000 prizes and raised the cost of a play from $5 to $6. Each play now includes four selections of seven numbers instead of three.

Although Tuesday's jackpot remained unclaimed, Ontario recorded several substantial secondary-prize wins. Two $1 million Maxmillions tickets were sold in Whitby and Hamilton, while tickets sold in Toronto and Mississauga each won $500,000 through a shared Maxmillions prize. Another 12 tickets across the province won Maxplus prizes of $100,000 each.

Lotto Max draws take place every Tuesday and Friday. The odds of winning the main jackpot remain approximately one in 33 million, even under the updated game rules.
