Express Entry PNP score jumps 47 points in latest draw

Canada’s latest Provincial Nominee Program draw saw the Express Entry cut-off rise sharply, with candidates needing a CRS score of 772 to receive an invitation.
Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada issued 752 invitations to apply on October 13, slightly more than the 733 invitations issued in the previous PNP draw on September 28.
The larger change was in the score threshold, which climbed from 725 to 772 — a 47-point increase.
The draw applied only to candidates with a provincial or territorial nomination. Those nominations add 600 points to an Express Entry profile, which is why PNP cut-offs are typically much higher than those in other types of draws.
An invitation allows a candidate to submit a permanent residence application. Final approval still depends on meeting the program’s eligibility and admissibility requirements.
