Brussels hosted an international conference on Palestine on Monday with representatives from more than 60 countries, reflecting a renewed European push to play a more visible role in diplomacy concerning Gaza and the West Bank. The talks focused on security, stability and the prospects for long-term peace.
The meeting came as joint estimates from the European Union, the United Nations and the World Bank put Gaza’s reconstruction needs at about $71.4 billion over the next decade, underlining the scale of the challenge ahead.
