Canada Sees Longer Processing Times for Family Reunification Applications

Canada is experiencing longer processing times for family reunification applications, according to the latest data released by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC).
Official figures show that applications for spousal sponsorship, partners, and family members are taking longer to process compared to previous years, with timelines varying depending on application type and applicants’ location.
IRCC attributes the delays to increased application volumes and file backlogs, noting that processing times remain estimates and may change based on operational capacity.
