Canada has held a new Express Entry draw, issuing 362 invitations to apply for permanent residence under the Provincial Nominee Program category, with a minimum Comprehensive Ranking System score of 742.
According to official data published by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada, the draw took place on March 16, 2026. The department also applied a tie-breaking rule for profiles submitted before October 5, 2025, at 20:35:25 UTC.
The high cutoff is significant because this was not a general Express Entry draw open to all candidates. It was a category-specific round targeting provincial nominees only. Candidates who receive a nomination from a Canadian province or territory gain an additional 600 CRS points, which typically keeps the minimum score much higher than in some other Express Entry rounds.
For applicants, receiving an invitation does not mean permanent residence is granted automatically. It allows the candidate to move to the next stage by submitting a complete application within the deadline set by the federal government, which is usually 60 days from the date of invitation.
The latest round again highlights the importance of provincial nomination pathways for candidates seeking to strengthen their CRS score and improve their chances of receiving an official invitation through Canada’s economic immigration system.
