Canada’s immigration department (IRCC) announced it will stop accepting new permanent residence applications under the Start-Up Visa (SUV) Program effective December 31, 2025 at 11:59 p.m.
IRCC said a limited exception will apply for applicants who hold a valid commitment made in 2025 from a designated organization but have not yet submitted their application. Those applicants must apply no later than June 30, 2026, provided their 2025 commitment documentation remains valid.
In the same update, IRCC confirmed it will extend the pause on accepting new applications under the Self-Employed Persons Program until further notice
