The federal government is bringing back the Canada Strong Pass for summer 2026 in a move aimed at making domestic travel, cultural outings and nature experiences more affordable for families and young people. The program will run from June 19 to September 7, 2026 and offers free or reduced-price access to selected travel and cultural experiences across the country.

According to the official program details, the Canada Strong Pass is not a physical card and does not require sign-up, purchase or collection. Visitors can simply use the offers directly with participating organizations. The benefits are available to all visitors, including those coming from abroad, and can be used multiple times during the program period, although some activities may still require reservations.

The pass includes free admission to sites operated by Parks Canada, including national parks, national historic sites and national marine conservation areas, along with a 25 percent discount on camping and some overnight stays. It also offers free admission for children and teens aged 17 and under, and 50 percent off for young adults aged 18 to 24 at national museums, the Plains of Abraham Museum, and selected provincial and territorial museums and galleries.

For rail travel, the program offers free VIA Rail travel for children aged 17 and under when accompanied by an adult, plus a 25 percent discount for travellers aged 18 to 24 on eligible trips across Canada. The renewed initiative is part of a broader federal affordability push, with Budget 2025 proposing funding to extend the Canada Strong Pass through the holiday period and summer 2026.
