Several major automakers have issued vehicle recall notices in Canada in recent weeks due to safety-related concerns, affecting nearly 21,000 vehicles across multiple models.
Hyundai
Hyundai announced a recall of 9,669 vehicles in Canada, covering 2022–2024 Hyundai Tucson models equipped with an original trailer wiring harness.
The company said a potential defect could allow water to enter the wiring, leading to brake light or trailer light failure, or causing an electrical short that increases the risk of accidents or fire and reduces vehicle visibility.
Fiat Chrysler
Fiat Chrysler has also recalled 4,115 vehicles due to a software issue that may affect key safety systems. The recall includes 2025 Ram 2500, 3500, 4500, and 5500 models.
According to the company, the defect could cause the safety control module to fail during driving, disabling airbags, seat belts, and electronic stability control.
Both automakers advised affected vehicle owners to contact authorized dealers to complete inspections and repairs at no cost.
