U.S. forces have redirected 100 commercial vessels in 60 days while enforcing the renewed blockade of Iranian ports, U.S. Central Command said Saturday, September 12, 2026. The figure covers operations since Washington reinstated the blockade in July.
In a statement posted on X, CENTCOM said no ship had crossed the blockade without authorization from American forces.
The operation targets vessels travelling to or from Iranian ports and coastal areas. Under its announced rules, CENTCOM says it continues to support shipping through regional waters for vessels that are not violating the blockade.
Washington first imposed the blockade on April 13 and suspended it on June 18 following an agreement with Tehran. It resumed enforcement on July 14, after that agreement broke down.
