Yasmine Abdel Aziz had an unexpected dedication after collecting three honours at The Best awards on Monday: the people she says are working against her.
The Egyptian actress told the audience that opposition had kept her passionate about her work and determined to succeed. Her speech, reported by entertainment outlet FilFan, also included thanks to the fans who continue to support her.
Abdel Aziz’s haul at the October 26 ceremony included best actress honours for television drama and film, according to Okaz.
Speaking to reporters at the event, she also brushed aside rumours of a falling-out with Mona Zaki. ET بالعربي reported that she described Zaki as a sister and longtime friend and dismissed attempts to come between them.
Abdel Aziz congratulated Zaki on her career tribute at the El Gouna Film Festival, saying the recognition was something their generation of actors could share in, Okaz reported.
