Two star-led comedies will launch Riyadh Season's theatre programme next week, with ticket sales now underway for productions featuring Egyptian actor Amr Youssef and Kuwaiti comedian Hassan Alballam. Both shows will play at Boulevard City, following the festival's official opening on October 21.

Youssef stars in Ana Mesh Arefny (I Don't Recognize Myself), which runs at Mohammed Al-Ali Theatre from October 23 to 27. The Egyptian ensemble includes Asmaa Galal, Bayoumi Fouad, Nesreen Amin, Ahmed Abdelwahab, Aya Abdelrazek, Salah El-Daly and Yomna Toulan. The comedy is directed by Mohsen Rizk and written by Abdelwahab and Kimez.

Opening a day earlier, Sugar Daddy will run from October 22 to 26 at Bakr Al-Sheddi Theatre. Alballam leads a Gulf cast featuring Ahmed Al-Ounan, Zahra Arafat, Fouz Al-Shatti, Mohammed Al-Ramadan and Jana Al-Failakawi. Written and directed by Abdullah Al-Badr, the production brings social comedy to the opening week's programme.
