Ahmed Ezz Returns for “Al Aref 2” Five Years After First Film

Egyptian star Ahmed Ezz has officially signed on to lead “Al Aref 2,” marking the return of the action thriller nearly five years after the first film was released in 2021.
Producer Mohamed Rashidi confirmed that preparations for the sequel have begun, with the production team currently working on the final details ahead of filming.
Screenwriter Mohamed Sayed Bashir and director Ahmed Alaa El Deeb, who worked on the first installment, are returning for the sequel. The full cast and official theatrical release date have not yet been announced.
Bashir has also shared an early teaser for the new film featuring action and chase sequences, offering the first promotional glimpse of the upcoming sequel.
Released in 2021, the original “Al Aref” followed a story centered on cybercrime, hacking and information warfare, with Ezz playing the character Younes. The film also starred Ahmed Fahmy, Mahmoud Hemeida, Mostafa Khater, Carmen Bsaibes, Rakeen Saad and Mohamed Mamdouh.
