Cairo Film Festival Says No to AI-Made Films in 47th Edition

The Cairo International Film Festival will not include films made using artificial intelligence in its 47th edition, according to festival president and Egyptian actor Hussein Fahmy, who outlined the decision during a meeting with journalists ahead of the festival’s official press conference.
Fahmy said the festival would not present AI-made films as part of its upcoming program, describing the decision as part of its approach to selecting films for the new edition. He also said such productions are not accepted by several major international film festivals.
The 47th Cairo International Film Festival is scheduled to take place from November 11 to 20, 2026, while a press conference revealing further details of the program is set for October 12.
