‘7Dogs’ Becomes First Arab Film to Sell One Million Tickets in Saudi Arabia

Saudi Arabia’s box office has recorded a new milestone after “7Dogs” surpassed one million tickets sold in cinemas across the Kingdom, becoming the first Arab film to reach that mark in the Saudi market, according to an announcement by General Entertainment Authority Chairman Turki Alalshikh.
The milestone comes roughly four months after the action film opened in Saudi cinemas in late May. Earlier in its theatrical run, “7Dogs” had already passed 2.1 million tickets across Arab markets, with reported revenues exceeding $16.4 million within its first 17 days.
Ahead of reaching the Saudi milestone, a campaign offered SAR 1 million to the buyer of the film’s one-millionth ticket through VOX Cinemas, with the cash prize provided by stc Saudi Arabia.
Directed by Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah, “7Dogs” stars Karim Abdel Aziz, Ahmed Ezz and Nasser Al Qasabi, alongside an international cast that includes Monica Bellucci and Salman Khan. The film is based on a story by Turki Alalshikh, with screenplay and dialogue by Mohamed El Dabbah.
