China has officially added Canada to its unilateral visa-waiver program, allowing holders of Canadian ordinary passports to enter China visa-free and stay for up to 30 days.
The Chinese Embassy in Canada said the measure will be in effect from 00:00 on Feb. 17, 2026 through 24:00 on Dec. 31, 2026 (Beijing time), covering travel for business, tourism, visiting family or friends, exchanges/visits, and transit.
Travelers who do not meet the visa-free conditions (including longer stays) must still obtain a visa before entry.
