Décarie closure disrupts a key Montreal route over the weekend

Montreal drivers are being warned to plan ahead as Highway 15 Décarie southbound will be fully closed from late Friday, May 8, to early Monday, May 11, 2026.
According to Quebec’s Ministry of Transport and Sustainable Mobility, the closure will run from 11:59 p.m. Friday until 5:00 a.m. Monday, between the Décarie Interchange and the entrance from Jean-Talon Street to Highway 15 southbound.
The ministry says the closure is needed to replace part of a beam on the de la Savane Street overpass and to carry out beam repairs on the Des Jockeys and Ferrier overpasses.
Several related ramps and access points will also be closed around the Décarie Interchange, including ramps from Highway 40 eastbound and westbound to Highway 15 southbound, as well as the ramp from Marcel-Laurin Boulevard Route 117 to Highway 15 southbound.
Local streets and entrances near the work zone will also be affected, including westbound de la Savane Street between Décarie Boulevard north and south, and the entrance from southbound Décarie Boulevard near de la Savane Street to Highway 15 southbound. Evening and overnight closures are also planned on Des Jockeys and Ferrier streets.
Drivers are advised to allow extra travel time, especially if they are heading toward central Montreal, connecting highways, or airport routes. Detours will be marked with temporary signs, but congestion is expected in the area.
The ministry also notes that the work could be postponed, extended, or cancelled depending on weather or operational conditions. Motorists are encouraged to check Québec 511 before leaving
