Drone hits two fuel tanks at Kuwait airport, officials report no casualties

Kuwait’s Directorate General of Civil Aviation said on Sunday, March 8, 2026, that a drone targeted two fuel tanks inside Kuwait International Airport belonging to Kuwait Aviation Fueling Company (KAFCO), triggering a major fire at the site.
DGCA spokesperson Abdullah Al Rajhi told Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) that initial reports indicate the damage is limited to material losses, with no deaths reported.
He said emergency procedures were activated immediately, firefighting and relevant teams are working to contain the blaze and prevent it from spreading, and specialized agencies remain on scene to monitor developments.
Al Rajhi added that DGCA President Sheikh Hamoud Mubarak Al Hamoud is at the site overseeing the response
