Egypt stepped up its tourism outreach in Canada as Ambassador Ahmed Hafez opened the Egyptian pavilion at the 29th edition of the Ottawa Travel and Vacation Show, held over two days in the Canadian capital.

The Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities took part in the exhibition through the Egyptian Tourism Promotion Board, with Wael Mansour representing the board and overseeing the Egyptian pavilion. The stand presented a broad picture of Egypt’s tourism offering, including cultural and historical tourism, beach destinations, as well as eco and wellness tourism.

Ambassador Hafez and members of the Egyptian embassy were present throughout the event, engaging directly with Canadian visitors and travel professionals. The show brought together more than 150 exhibitors representing around 50 countries, in addition to Canadian provinces and local tourism businesses.

The Egyptian pavilion drew notable interest from attendees, who were introduced to key destinations and experiences across Egypt at a time of strong international competition for the Canadian outbound travel market.

The participation reflects Egypt’s broader strategy to strengthen its presence in international tourism markets and deepen cooperation with Canadian travel stakeholders in support of inbound tourism and wider economic activity linked to the sector.
