Epstein files push Norway’s ambassador to Jordan and Iraq to resign

Norwegian diplomat Mona Juul has stepped down as Norway’s ambassador to Jordan, also accredited to Iraq, after an internal review linked to newly released U.S. files concerning her past contact with Jeffrey Epstein, according to Reuters.
Norway’s foreign ministry said the matter involved a serious lapse in judgment and noted Juul had been temporarily suspended while the review was underway before her resignation was accepted.
The wider “Epstein files” disclosure has triggered political and institutional fallout across parts of Europe, even where no criminal wrongdoing has been alleged, as officials face scrutiny over associations after Epstein’s earlier sex-crime conviction.
Reuters also reported that the review has expanded to examine past links involving Juul’s husband Terje Rød-Larsen and the International Peace Institute, in the context of determining the scope and relevance of past contacts.
