Man Killed in Etobicoke Shooting as Toronto Police Search for Three Suspects

Toronto police are investigating a homicide after a man was found shot multiple times inside a vehicle in Etobicoke on Friday night.

Police said officers responded at around 10:10 p.m. on Friday, April 24, to reports of gunshots in the Scarlett Road and Scarlettwood Court area. When they arrived, they found a male victim inside a vehicle suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.

Life-saving measures were started at the scene before the victim was rushed to hospital by paramedics. He was later pronounced dead.

Police have identified the victim as Ahmed-Nur Ismail, 30, of Toronto. Investigators said three unknown suspects fled the area in a vehicle before officers arrived.

Police have not said whether the shooting was targeted or whether the victim and suspects knew each other. The Homicide and Missing Persons Unit is continuing the investigation.

Toronto police said this is the city’s sixth homicide of 2026.

Investigators are asking anyone with information, surveillance video, or dashcam footage from the area to contact police or submit an anonymous tip through Crime Stoppers.

The shooting has raised concern among residents in west-end Toronto, particularly because it happened in a residential area where a parked vehicle became the scene of a homicide investigation.
